Karmiel WWTP – First Stage
Northern Israel
Karmiel Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP)
Advanced wastewater treatment serving Karmiel and the Western Galilee region
Location: Karmiel and surrounding areas
Project Type: Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP)
Client: Local Authorities / Regional Water Utilities
Project Status: Completed
Balasha Jalon Infrastructure Systems Ltd Role: Full design services (preliminary and detailed design) + implementation support
🟦 Project Overview
The Karmiel Wastewater Treatment Plant was commissioned in the late 1990s and serves a population of approximately 150,000 residents, including the city of Karmiel and 13 surrounding municipalities.
Over time, and in response to population growth and increasingly stringent environmental requirements, the facility was upgraded to enhance treatment performance and expand its capacity. The design addressed varying hydraulic and organic loads while ensuring high effluent quality and operational stability.
🟦 Balasha Jalon’s Role
Balasha Jalon Infrastructure Systems Ltd. carried out the preliminary and detailed design of the wastewater treatment plant, covering all engineering disciplines, including civil, mechanical, electrical and control systems. The company also provided professional support and supervision throughout the implementation stages.
